It was a Tuesday night.
Nothing had gone wrong.
But I was lying there, heart beating, mind already ahead: replaying a conversation, rehearsing one that hadn't happened yet.
I'd tried the breathing.
The journaling.
The "just let it go."
None of it worked when it was actually happening.
So I stopped trying to calm it down.
And started asking a different question:
What if the thoughts aren't the problem?
That question changed everything.
